In its short life, AMP Gallery has become a renowned artists’ space in Peckham.
The building now continues to serve the Peckham community and support grassroots arts organisations in a new and exciting way. All exhibitions were previously curated by invite-only, but now the space is available for hire for all kinds of showcases.
This minimalist space in Peckham has always brimmed with potential. Before being transformed into AMP Gallery, the building was used as a local DVD shop, serving the community but in a vastly different way.
Then, in 2016, AMP Gallery was launched as a not-for-profit artist-lead gallery. For a couple of years, the gallery supported artists to exhibit and perform in the space by invitation of Jo Dennis and Dido Hallett, the founders of Maverick Projects.
Now, Jo and Dido have paused the curatorial project, making way to allow the gallery to be hired out by all for creative exhibitions and performances.
